The Course
Powderham Castle was the very popular venue for eventers for 40 years up to 1999 and organised by the Courtenay family. The Deer Park provides the ideal setting for the three courses, using the many traditional features and the undulating parkland. Simon Bere and Eric Winter have had the challenging task of creating three new courses encompassing a new water feature and a re-sculptured sand pit near the Exe Estuary. David Evans and his team have built the many new features and courses to their familiar high standard. All three courses will be up to height, to maximum length and riders are assured of good going. The Show Jumping arena will be in front of the Castle. We are very fortunate to be able to provide our competitors with a very large warm up field for their dressage in a quiet area near the Horsebox park.
